Earlier on Sunday, the government had announced that journalists would be allowed to enter the secretariat, but even though the journalists had been waiting at the secretariat gate since morning, they were allowed to enter only at noon. The Home Ministry allowed about 200 journalists to enter the secretariat on Monday.Information Advisor Nahid Islam said on Sunday that temporary passes would be given to journalists from Monday. After a meeting with leaders of the journalists' organizations working in the secretariat at the Home Ministry on that day, Nahid Islam said that the accreditation cards of journalists are being re-evaluated. A small number of temporary passes will be given to journalists from Monday.In addition, in a meeting with leaders of the Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum (BSRF), the organization of journalists at the Secretariat, Home Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said on Sunday afternoon, "Journalists will be able to enter the secretariat with temporary passes from Monday."
